Throughout Western New York, Baker Victory Services (BVS) is most commonly referred to as “Father Baker's.” What was once an orphanage, boys' protectory, and infant home for unwed mothers and their infants has evolved into one of the area's largest social and human services organizations. Over 150 years later, BVS continues Father Baker's legacy of caring through preventive, outpatient, educational and residential services to meet the needs of more than 3,500 children, adults and families annually.

BVS offers 34 programs at 25 different sites across the community, through close to 800 experienced and dedicated staff members. Programs include those for individuals with severe developmental disabilities, infants and toddlers in need of early intervention, families facing issues as home and school, teens experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, young people with emotional/behavioral challenges, and couples interested in adopting or becoming foster parents.

A proud founding member of the Care Management Coalition, BVS is nationally accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the Council on Accreditation. BVS is also a member of the Child Welfare League of America, the Council of Family & Child Care Agencies, the County of Erie Community Coordinating Council on Children & Families, the National Association of Children's Behavioral Health, the NYS Association of Community and Residential Agencies, the NYS Coalition of Children's Mental Health Services and the NYS Coalition of 853 Schools.
